My name is Nirvana Fairbanks. I am 23 years old and I am in currently in my fifth year of college at Portland State University studying French and Linguistics. I have spastic diplegia and I have been doing movement since August of 2013. I have enjoyed learning about my body and watching things change. Some of the biggest changes that I have experienced are: I am able to walk unaided for short distances again (I was able to do this in high school but lost it), I have not been wearing braces since February 2013 which I had previously worn every day since I was very small, and I am now using single tipped canes rather than quad tipped ones. I have also gained more awareness of my own body and I am able to better describe what is happening. I still have many goals but I have come so far in such a short time, even with just the body awareness. I am excited to continue!
